Climate science meets travel

I'm a climate and travel analyst based in Paris — applying a climate science background to the travel industry. I analyse what's working in sustainable tourism, what's greenwashing, and what the science actually says.

I have an MSc in Climate Change from UCL, I've lived across six countries, and I speak five languages with a sixth in progress. In 2022, my partner and I packed our lives into a storage unit in South London and left with no return ticket. Over 40 countries and counting — not as tourists, but as long-stay travellers who actually live in the places we visit.

That combination — rigorous climate training and years of lived slow-travel experience — is what I bring to everything I write and every organisation I work with.

I write about what it's actually like to pack your life into a carry-on, to navigate the Namibian desert in a car that has absolutely no business being off tarmac, to stand at the departure gate in Hong Kong already thinking about how to come back.

I travel slowly — living in places rather than just visiting. Sustainability is woven through everything.

Somewhere over Iran, in the dead of night, while most of the cabin was asleep, I looked out the window and saw Tehran. I'd never been, knew almost nothing about it, but from thirty-five thousand feet it was just this vast, glittering carpet of light, an entire city going about its evening underneath us.

Everything I owned was in a warehouse in South London and there was no return ticket in my bag.
