Overcrowded, overfiltered, underresearched. You'd rather travel slowly, to places that respect the people who actually live there. You want someone who's actually studied the systems behind the places they write about.

I'm Greta. I have an MSc in Climate Change from UCL, I've lived across six countries, and I speak five languages with a sixth in progress. In November 2022, my partner and I packed everything we owned into a storage unit in South London and flew to South East Asia with no return ticket. We haven't really stopped since.

I write about places the way they deserve to be written about: with texture, detail, and history. I'll recommend the boutique hotel run by the family who's been there for four generations, the restaurant that grows its own ingredients in the backyard, and the safari that actually supports the community around it.

Each essay is a place lived in, not just visited. I write about what it's actually like to pack your life into a carry-on, to navigate the Namibian desert in a car that has absolutely no business being off tarmac, to stand at a Johannesburg departure gate already thinking about how to come back. Sustainability is woven through everything.

Somewhere over Iran, in the dead of night, while most of the cabin was asleep, I looked out the window and saw Tehran. I'd never been, knew almost nothing about it, but from thirty-five thousand feet it was just this vast, glittering carpet of light, an entire city going about its evening underneath us.

Everything I owned was in a warehouse in South London and there was no return ticket in my bag.
